Large-scale disinfecting efforts have been carried out to slow the spread of COVID-19 in big cities and barangays. Methods from simple disinfectant sprays to spray cannons have been used on establishments and streets as the country continues to battle against the increasing number of COVID-infected cases.

Keeping Cebuanos out of harm’s way is the Regional Emergency Assistance Communications Team – Philippines or REACT wherein one of our Electromechanics Technology alumni, Gerebryan Patunob, is a member. REACT Philippines, Inc. has been conducting sanitizing operations in Metro Cebu especially in places where persons under monitoring (PUM) are located since the declaration of a state of public-health emergency started.

REACT Philippines, Inc. is considered as the largest civic communications organization in the country with over 12,000 regular members and extensions belonging to 163 groups located nationwide. This organization reports under to the Office of Civil Relations-Philippine Information and Civic Action Group (PHILCAG) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Gerebryan Patunob started to volunteer through CITE Response Team until 2018. After graduation, he worked as freelance technician for Rach Azer Airconditioning Company. He is also affiliated with Rapid Rescue Rider-Cebu Chapter as a responder.
