300 SCHOLARS JOIN FUN RUN; MECH REIGNS OLYMPIAD
At the break of dawn, some 330 scholars were already assembled at the playground of Talamban Elementary School.

After a few stretching and “waka-waka” dancing led by Sir Flores, the runners are revved up to run 8K for the second installment of Run for Scholars Series to cap the Olympiad celebrations on August 28. This running craze started and finished at Talamban Elementary School.

And with only fellow scholars to compete against, the runners, armed with their better conditioning and stamina, grabbed most of the top spots.

Albert Torreon who topped the list ran the route in 33 minutes to beat his cousin Lins Torion and Aljon Vildosola who landed 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.

CITE Runners Club hosted this fun-filled event.

Meanwhile, MECH team emerged victorious after winning the overall championship award in this year’s Olympiad held August 25-27.

MECH accumulated a whopping 153 points in major and minor sports. IT team followed suit with 122 points and last year’s champion, EM, landed third place with 91 points. ELEX department wrapped up the winning circle with 58 points.

Athletes persevered, sweated out and exhausted themselves during the three-day sports event which was opened with a parade and capped by the second Run for Scholars in the early morn of August 28.

Some of the highlights included invitational basketball game between CITE and CIT, jamming sessions with homegrown acoustic artists, and the much-awaited cheerdance competition among first year students.
