Ralph Alba: Beyond Borders

March 24, 2026
When Ralph Alba walked across the stage to receive his Diploma in Electromechanical Technology from CITE Technical Institute, Inc. in 2009, he carried more than just a credential. He carried the mindset of a CITE graduate—well-formed, skilled, and with a clear understanding that opportunities are built one step at a time.
Today, this CITE alumnus lives and works in Canada, building a career in operations and technical sales in the fire protection industry. Ralph’s journey from Cebu to Nova Scotia reflects what many young people aspire to – steady progress, continuous learning, and the alacrity to move beyond familiar ground.
Ralph began his career in customer service and workforce management, where he developed a strong foundation in operations, data reporting, and team coordination. Over the years, he worked with business process outsourcing companies in Cebu such as Convergys, TechMahindra, Cognizant, and SYKES, taking on roles that required problem-solving and managing complex operational data.
While growing in his career, Ralph continued his education. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of San Jose Recoletos. Later, his education was recognized in Canada through a four-year Canadian equivalency in Operations Management.
In Canada, Ralph expanded his professional path into fire protection services. He started in scheduling and coordination roles and eventually became an Operations Manager at Mainline Fire Protection Inc. in Toronto, overseeing both field and administrative teams. His work focused on coordinating technicians, improving operational processes, and ensuring compliance with strict safety standards.
After a year, he now works as an Inside Sales Representative at D&L Engineering, specializing in technical fire protection solutions. His role brings together his technical background, operational experience, and customer service skills.
Looking back, the foundation he gained at CITE remains central to his journey. In fact, he also completed his in-plant training at CITE, which strengthened his organizational skills. Ralph’s story is a reminder that careers are built through persistence and a willingness to take opportunities as they come.
