Balamban, Cebu — 15 May 2025 — Austal Philippines proudly announced the successful completion of the first batch of 20 student-trainees from the Center for Industrial Technology & Enterprise (CITE) under the Dual Training System (DTS) program in Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology.
The 15-month program, a collaboration between Austal Philippines and CITE, blended classroom instruction with immersive on-the-job training across multiple departments in the company. More than just honing technical skills, the program featured leadership workshops and mentorship initiatives aimed at developing well-rounded professionals equipped not only to excel in their roles but also to mentor future batches of CITE on-the-job trainees (OJTs).
“It was a challenging yet rewarding experience,” shared one of the trainees. “I learned how to apply my knowledge in real-life projects and grew both personally and professionally.”
Austal Philippines extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Electrical Department, Design Department, Site Services Department, and Piping and Mechanical Department—whose mentorship and support were instrumental in shaping the growth and development of the student-trainees.
Now officially part of the Austal workforce, these young professionals are ready to take on greater responsibilities and contribute to the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence in shipbuilding. The enthusiasm among the graduates was evident, as many expressed deep appreciation for the invaluable experiences gained and their excitement about continuing their journey with Austal.
