In line with its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) plan, the College of Industrial Technology and Education (CITE) conducted a series of fire and earthquake drills on September 30 and October 10, 2025 to strengthen the community’s preparedness for emergencies.

At the prompt of the Safety Committee, faculty and staff instructed students to “Duck, Cover, and Hold”—a key response during earthquakes. Students immediately moved to the designated open areas to minimize risks from potential falling debris. This simulation served as a reminder to always look for safe evacuation zones during seismic events.

To reinforce fire safety awareness, representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted a fire safety demonstration. Faculty, staff, and students learned how to respond effectively in the event of a fire, including the proper use of fire extinguishers and evacuation protocols.

These drills highlight CITE’s commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of its students and personnel, aligning with national disaster risk reduction standards.
