CITE Technical Institute participating in TESDA’s Capability-Building Writeshop on the Enhancement of Self-Study Reports (SSR), as part of the national effort to align engineering-related diploma programs with the Dublin Accord under the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) Level 5 on July 17 and 18, 2025.
The writeshop—organized by TESDA’s Qualifications and Standards Office (QSO) in partnership with the Philippine Technological Council (PTC)—is a multi-day hybrid activity which began on June 30, 2025. It aims to equip selected institutions with the skills to prepare and evaluate SSRs as a step toward international program accreditation.
CITE was one of the few institutions nominated under Region VII, recognized for its diploma programs in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Computer Engineering Technology. The participants from CITE include Academic Formation Director Neil Agbay, Electrical Engineering Technology head Engr. Reymond Paredes, Mechanical Engineering Technology head Rhiane Matas, and Mechanical Engineering Technology head Rhiane Matas. The writeshop involved in curriculum design and quality assurance, chosen for their expertise in program outcomes, curriculum mapping, and accreditation processes.
The initiative is part of TESDA’s broader strategy to elevate technical education in the Philippines to international standards. CITE’s participation highlights its proactive stance in building future-ready and globally competent Filipino technicians, while strengthening its leadership among TESDA-accredited institutions in the engineering and technology sectors.
The Dublin Accord is an international agreement among bodies responsible for accrediting engineering technician qualifications, which ensures that graduates possess the competencies required by global industries. Alignment with this standard marks a significant step forward for Philippine technical-vocational institutions like CITE.
