CITE Joins TESDA 7 High-Level Meeting on Micro-Credentials and Ladderized Programs in Advanced Manufacturing and Semiconductors

CITE Technical Institute participated in the TESDA 7 High-Level Meeting held at Bai Hotel, Mandaue City on July 23,, 2025. The event convened leading Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Technical-Vocational Institutions (TVIs), industry leaders, and government agencies to shape the future of micro-credential courses and ladderized diploma programs in the rapidly evolving fields of advanced manufacturing and semiconductors.

The meeting, led by TESDA Deputy Director General Vidal D. Villanueva III and TESDA Region VII Director Gamaliel B. Vicente, Jr., ASEAN Eng., CESO III, provided a platform for institutions like CIT to contribute to national workforce development initiatives.

CITE brought insights from its experience in delivering industry-responsive programs, and aligned with TESDA’s strategic vision to create flexible learning pathways through micro-credentials and credit transfer systems. The programs are aligned on with RA 10647 (Ladderized Education Act of 2014), the Philippine Credit Transfer System (PCTS), and Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) frameworks.

During the meeting, DDG Villanueva emphasized the goal of positioning the Philippines as a global hub for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, driven by demand for highly skilled workers.

The event concluded with a dynamic exchange of ideas moderated by Dir. Vicente, with unified support from HEI and TVI leaders, including CITE, for the nationwide rollout of these pioneering programs.
