Selected faculty members of CITE participated in two high-impact events this week underscoring CITE’s commitment to staying attuned to emerging trends in the industry and education.
Mr. Armand Manatad, Systems Administrator and incoming board director of CITE Multipurpose Cooperative, represented the school at the “Good Design. Good Business” Summit on June 5, 2025, held at Oakridge Business Park. Organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) as an opening salvo for Cebu Business Month, the summit brought together business leaders, architects, and creatives to emphasize the importance of strategic and sustainable design in achieving business success.
Mr. Manatad gained valuable insights into design thinking, space psychology, and renewable energy solutions from expert speakers including Donn Tan of M Moser Associates, Franco Soberano of Cebu Landmasters, clinical psychologist Natasha Paola Sandique, Louie Ferrer of Megawide, and Thai architect Varudh Varavarn, among others.
Meanwhile, Patrick Neil Cutillas, Israel Falcis, and Jomar Candilada attended the Rex Education Higher Education Roadshow on June 6, 2025, at the University of San Jose–Recoletos. The roadshow gathered educators from across the Visayas to tackle pressing issues and innovations in higher education. Highlights included a plenary on CHED’s vision for future-proofing Philippine higher education, discussions on teaching the General Education Curriculum in the digital age, and breakout sessions on micro-credentialing and revised Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) resources.
Both events equipped CITE’s representatives with strategic insights and emerging practices that support the school’s pursuit of excellence in technical education and professional development.
