Corporate Social Responsibility

CITE Technical Institute, Inc. continues to fulfill its mission of forming socially responsible, service-oriented professionals through sustained community outreach programs. This CSR report highlights CITE’s initiatives at San Jose Day Care Center and other partner schools, focusing on education support, facility improvement, and student volunteerism.

Key CSR Activities

A. San Jose Elementary School – Brigada Eskwela Participation

  • Date: June 28, 2025
  • Activities: Repainting and refurbishing school desks and benches at San Jose Elementary School, Purok 1, San Jose.
  • Volunteers: Student Clubs Supervisor Brendon Baclaan, Student Affairs Supervisor Viador John II Viajar, and members from Campus Police, Palette Club, and CITE Photography Club.
  • Impact: Improved physical learning environment, strengthened teamwork among student organizations.
  • Community Response: Principal Ms. Julieta Englaterra expressed gratitude for CITE’s tangible contributions to school readiness.

B. San Jose Day Care Center – Facility Upgrade and Maintenance

  • Date: July 14, 2025 (Follow-up Visit)
  • Activities:
    • Repainting playground structures (tires, slide, handwashing area)
    • Reinforcing perimeter fencing
    • Cleaning air-conditioning unit
    • Upgrading computer systems
  • Lead Group: Speech and Improvement Team (SPIT), headed by Chairman Mark Jadaong.
  • Impact: Enhanced safety, aesthetics, and functionality of the day care facilities.

C. San Jose Day Care Center – Young Mentors Organization Outreach

  • Date: September 28, 2024
  • Activities:
    • Repainting and repairing shelves and cabinets
    • Improving classroom space for ~30 children
    • Assisting in weekend teaching sessions
  • Impact: Created a safer, more engaging classroom environment while providing continued literacy support.

D. San Jose Day Care Center – Literacy Mentorship Program

  • Date: September 14 – October 2024
  • Program Duration: 3 weeks
  • Participants: 12 CITE student mentors teaching 24 children (ages 5–6).
  • Teaching Methodology: Montessori approach, hands-on literacy activities.
  • Impact: Fostered reading and writing skills; culminated in a special graduation ceremony.
  • Continuity: Mentoring club active since 2008, serving the community on weekends.

E. Pulangbato Elementary School – Outdoor Space Refurbishment

  • Date: July 27, 2024
  • Partnership: Juanito I. King Foundation, Inc. (JIKFI) and CITE Technical Institute.
  • Activity: Repainting and enhancing the child-friendly outdoor space.
  • Impact: Provided students with a vibrant, safe area for breaks and informal learning.
