The Central Visayan Institute Foundation (CVIF) will holds its 6th workshop of the CVIF-Dynamic Learning Program (DLP) on April 22-24 at the Davao Christian High School for implementing schools and those who are interested to implement DLP.
DLP, a process approach teaching methodology, stresses on the writing component to keep the students actively participating in the learning process. In DLP, students write first the concepts before the lectures or discussions. This enhances better comprehension, active participation in the actual class discussions, and discipline.
Many a school has implemented the program which also features parallel classes, portfolio-based notes, and a no-homework policy.
In the Visayas, CITE was the first and only known technical-vocational school which implements the program. For 3 years and counting, CITE has adopted DLP in lecture and workshop classes. The program also helps increase the school attendance and academic performance of the students.
CITE practices will be showcased in the third day of the workshop through Mr. Marlon Valencia, a member of the Committee on the Academic Standards. Mr. Valencia will highlight the insights and challenges of implementing the program in a tech-voc landscape.
