Joemar Candilada has been named TESDA Idol 2025 Regional Winner, a recognition that caps his inspiring journey from humble beginnings towards national recognition. Representing Central Visayas region, he is set to compete in the National TESDA Idol competition in the coming months.
Raised in Poblacion, Alcoy, Cebu, Joemar’s life has been shaped by hard work and quiet determination. Although he qualified for an accelerated program in high school, he chose to complete the regular curriculum to strengthen his foundation and graduating with honors later on. He later enrolled at CITE Technical Institute, where he finished his diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology in 2017 with academic awards.
After graduation, Joemar joined CITE teaching force as an Electronics Laboratory Maintenance staff, while pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering degree at CIT University. On top of this, he works with his own electronics repair business and fulfills his role as a doting father and a devoted husband.
His list of credentials is equally impressive. Joemar holds eight National Certificates (NCs):

•Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing (EPAS) NC II
•Mechatronics Servicing NC II
•Plumbing NC II
•Domestic Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (DOMRAC) NC II
•Commercial Air-conditioning Installation Servicing (CAIS) NC III
•Trainers Methodology Certificate Level I (TMC I)
•National TVET Trainer’s Certificate (NTTC) in EPAS
In April 2025, Joemar added another milestone to his name by passing the Electronics Technician (ECT) Board Exam.
Today, June 26, 2025, during the TVET Provincial Forum held at Montebello Villa Hotel, Joemar was awarded as the Wage-Employed Category Winner for the TESDA Idol Provincial Search. During the same event, he was also announced as the Regional Winner. He received a plaque of recognition and a cash prize in honor of his outstanding accomplishments.
In his speech, Joemar paid tribute to his late father, whose dream inspired him to persevere. Today, he stands as a role model for TVET learners across the country—a proof that with faith, hard work, and determination, success is within arm’s length. Congratulations, Joemar!
