CITE Technical Institute Inc. welcomed officials from TESDA Region VII for a two-day benchmarking visit on July 3–4, 2025, positioning the school as a key player in the advancement of semiconductor workforce development in the country.
Leading the delegation was ASEAN Engineer Gamaliel B. Vicente, Jr., CESO III, TESDA 7 Regional Director, accompanied by Ms. Jocelyn V. Cabahug, Chief of the Regional Operations Division, and the Qualifications and Standards Office (QSO) team headed by Assistant Executive Director Ms. Redilyn Agub. Technical staff from CTADD and CSDD also joined the visit.
The activity was hosted at CITE’s campus in Cebu City, which showcased its robust training facilities, industry-aligned curriculum, and proven expertise in the Dual Training System (DTS). TESDA’s benchmarking focused on assessing CITE’s readiness to support a future Integrated Circuit (IC) Design program, aligned with the Semiconductor and Electronics Industry Roadmap.
Highlights of the Visit:

Day 1: CITE hosted a workshop on Semiconductor Training Implementation Models, drawing participation from TESDA, higher education institutions, and leading tech industry partners. Discussions emphasized the critical role of training institutions like CITE in preparing future-ready Filipino technicians.

Day 2: Site visits to partner companies MinebeaMitsumi Inc. in Danao City and Teradyne Philippines Limited in Lapu-Lapu City demonstrated the effectiveness of industry collaboration under the DTS model.
TESDA officials also highlighted the strengths of CITE’s graduates under the TESDA Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, while identifying areas for enhancement—particularly in soft skills and global work ethics.
This visit affirms CITE’s growing reputation as a hub for technical excellence and innovation, and reinforces TESDA’s commitment to building a globally competitive Filipino workforce.
