TESDA IX Management Committee Benchmarks Best Practices at CITE

CITE Technical Institute, Inc. was honored to host the TESDA IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) Management Committee for a benchmarking visit on September 30, 2025, a significant event that provided a platform for knowledge exchange, best practice sharing, and strengthening collaborative ties between the two institutions.
The activity was conducted in line with TESDA Regional Office IX’s request to hold a benchmarking activity in Cebu City. CITE was chosen as one of the official benchmarking sites because of ts strong track record in delivering quality training programs, implementing Diploma Programs, building industry-academe partnerships, and sustaining the Dual Training System (DTS).
The delegation was led by Regional Director and Chairperson Tarhata S. Mapandi, CESO III (second row, 8th from the left), and included key regional and provincial leaders, namely, Alan T. Bacatan (Provincial Director,Zamboanga del Norte), Omarkhayyam I. Dalagan (District Director, Zamboanga City Industrial Center), Samad B. Dibansa (Provincial Director,Zamboanga del Sur), Adrian B. Ampong (Provincial Director, Zamboanga Sibugay), Jocelyn C. Wee (RTC Chief, Zamboanga Peninsula), Gladys A. Tiongco (VSA III, DSPJ), Licinio G. Lañojan (VSA III, DSF), Hermil S. Contrivida (Administrator, Sindangan), Juancho C. Lazo (Administrator, Pagadian), Ferdinand L. Melicor (Administrator, Zamboanga Sibugay), Abdulmubin S. Madisa (OIC, Zamboanga City), Nanith L. Carbon (Chief, EOD, TESDA IX), and Mary Kharmel C. Clavecilla (OIC, RFASD, TESDA IX).
The delegation was welcomed by CITE Executive Director Dr. Roy Carpio and members of MANCOM. The itinerary included a tour of CITE’s training workshops and facilities, in-depth discussions on program delivery, and interactive exchanges with the management committee and faculty members. During the presentation, CITE presented its DTS operational frameworks, diploma program implementations, and best practices in implementing the Dual Training System.
In turn, TESDA IX shared its regional priorities and challenges, opening opportunities for future collaboration and synergy in advancing quality TVET across the country.
