TESDA Strengthens Partnership with CITE for Semiconductor Diploma Program Standards

September 13, 2025

As part of its continuing efforts to align qualifications with industry requirements—particularly in the fast-growing semiconductor and electronics sector—the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), through its Qualifications and Standards Office and the Curriculum and Training Aids Development Division (QSO-CTADD), has partnered with CITE Technical Institute in developing a model curriculum for the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) Level 5 Diploma in Microelectronics Technology.

CITE, being the pioneering institution to offer a diploma program in Electronics Technology, will soon integrate this curriculum to address the growing demand for semiconductor technicians and help strengthen workforce readiness in high-demand industries such as semiconductors and electronics.

This collaboration was further reinforced during the five-day Workshop on the Development and Validation of Diploma Program Standards in Microelectronics Technology held on September 8–12, 2025, in Metro Manila. The workshop brought together experts from various regions with extensive knowledge in curriculum design and development.

Representing CITE at the workshop were Academic Formation Director Neil Agbay, Academic Manager Romero Enoc (standing, 7th and 3rd from the left) and CITE consultant Engr Roy Zapata who joined virtually.

Guided by Deputy Director General Rosanna A. Urdaneta, TESDA confirmed that the workshop will advance the development of Diploma Program Standards (DPS) for the semiconductor diploma title.
