Wadhwani Foundation Introduces AI-Powered Upskilling Program to CITE

May 28, 2025

To further strengthen the employability of CITE students, Wadhwani Foundation—a global non-profit focused on skilling and entrepreneurship—visited the campus on May 23, 2025, to introduce its AI-powered upskilling platform.

The initiative responds to a pressing concern: a recent Wadhwani Foundation survey revealed that only 10% of K–12 graduates are able to secure employment immediately after graduation, while 75% leave college without completing their degrees, entering the workforce with limited readiness.

Through this collaboration, CITE students can access free soft skills and job-readiness training via Wadhwani’s 13-course JobReady and 10-course JobRise programs. Both come with microcertificates designed to help students and job seekers launch new careers or advance in their current jobs.

Leading the engagement was Miss Giselle Lingcon (6th from left), Partnerships Associate for Skilling at Wadhwani Foundation Philippines, who met with Mancom to explore how the GenieAI platform which offers career counseling, interview preparation, and employment connections—can be made accessible to underserved youth in Cebu.

Currently, the Wadhwani Foundation supports over 22,000 students across the country through more than 60 partner institutions. Its mission is to bridge the education-to-employment gap by equipping students with practical, in-demand skills, and linking them with industry placement opportunities.
