Students from CITE took part in a meaningful outreach activity on June 28, 2025, by repainting school desks at San Jose Elementary School in Purok 1, San Jose, as part of the nationwide Brigada Eskwela initiative. The activity is part of CITE’s ongoing efforts to instill in its students the values of service, volunteerism, and community involvement.
Led by Student Clubs Supervisor Brendon Baclaan and Student Affairs Supervisor Viador John II Viajar, volunteers from various campus organizations—including the Campus Police, Palette Club, and CITE Photography Club—worked together to refurbish worn-out benches. They applied fresh coats of green and brown paint, giving the school facilities a clean, vibrant look and contributing to a more welcoming learning environment for young pupils.
The activity not only helped improve the school’s physical facilities but also strengthened teamwork and a sense of shared purpose among the student volunteers.
Ms. Julieta Englaterra, principal of San Jose Elementary School, expressed her gratitude for the students’ time and effort. “We are deeply thankful to the CITE students for their support. Their work has made a real difference in preparing our school for the coming school year,” she said.
CITE’s community engagement initiatives align with its broader mission of forming socially responsible, service-oriented professionals, especially among youth from underprivileged backgrounds.
