Hundreds of Grades 10-12 students from public schools across Cebu City flocked to the GMall of Cebu for the Heroes for Education: 2nd Cebu City Scholarship Fair, held from April 7 to 10, 2025. The four-day event gave young learners a valuable opportunity to explore various educational pathways and scholarship options that could shape their future.
Students immersed themselves in interactive booths, attended orientation talks, and engaged with representatives from 23 accredited partner schools—including CITE Technical Institute, Inc. CITE’s booth drew interest from students seeking information about its 3- year diploma programs, 1 year Production Technology and scholarship opportunities.
The CITE team—led by Julieto Ardiente (Officer-in-Charge, Human Formation), Romero Enoc (Alumni Coordinator), Viador John II Viajar (Student Affairs Supervisor), Melijandyl Delatina (Student and Parent Formation Supervisor), and Joemar Candilada (Electronics Engineering Technology Instructor)—shared valuable insights, offered words of encouragement, and provided practical advice on shaping each student’s educational journey. They were also joined by Leonard Peligro, Kent Deconlay, and Bryan Amolo.
The event opened with an inspiring message from Paolo Martin L. Saberon, Local Youth Development Officer IV of the Cebu City Youth Development Office, who told the students, “Your dreams are valid, but they require action.” His words resonated with the young audience, motivating them to take proactive steps toward their academic and career goals.
On Day 3, Cebu City Mayor Atty. Raymond Alvin Garcia delivered an uplifting speech, highlighting the transformative power of education in shaping lives and communities. He encouraged the youth to seize every opportunity and remain steadfast in their pursuit of knowledge.
The event served as a turning point for students and with the support from the Cebu City Scholarship Program and its partner institutions, they are provided with resources to build a better future.
