CITE Attends Scholars’ Night

CITE attended the 35th Scholars’ Homecoming Celebration of the Marubeni Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (MSFI) held November 29, 2024 in Makati City attended by present and previous scholars.

Also in attendance were the Board of Trustees and Officers of MSFI, officers of Marubeni Philippines Corporation and representatives of the beneficiary schools of MSFI.

MSFI President and CEO Shigeru Shimoda (photo, center) delivered ther remarks of substance from the benefactor.

Every year, scholars are invited to give messages of appreciation. On behalf of CITE scholars, a third year diploma program of Electrical Engineering Technology student Jaun Carlo Magbago (standing, far left) delivered his speech and expressed how the scholarship grant helped him get through financial difficulties while still in school. Mr. Magbago was accompanied by CITE Scholarships Officer Patrick Neil Cutillas.

MSFI was established in 1989 through a grant from Marubeni Corporation. As a scholarship foundation, it has supported underprivileged young Filipinos seeking technical and vocational education. MSFI has over 100 scholars in 13 beneficiary schools all over Luzon and Visayas. Since its inception, MSFI has already awarded about 2000 scholarship grants in total.
