Anchored on the theme “Reflecting the Past, Celebrating the Present, Embracing the Future”, an array of virtual events highlighted the 2-day celebration last February 14-15, 2024. CITE hosted various activities both in-house and interschool catering to the interests of students and visitors. A Holy Mass in observance of Ash Wednesday was held on February 14.
Kicking off the celebration on February 14 was the interschool modern hip-hop dance competitions among four participating schools: Pit-os National High School, Mandaue City Comprehensive , Benedicto College, and Talamban National High School who emerged as this year’s champion.
This was followed by the Interschool Oratorical and Declamation Contest among budding speakers from eight different high schools. CITE also hosted interschool art competition among participating schools such as Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School, Benedicto College, Apas National High School, Academia de San Jose, Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion, Academia de San Isidro Labrador, Tingub National High School and Talamban National High School.
The second day, Feb 15, was capped by inter-school quiz bowl participated in by Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School, Benedicto College (champion), Lusaran National High School, Academia de San Jose, Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion, Academia de San Isidro Labrador, Tingub National High School and Talamban National High School.
Homegrown talents also pitted against one another in the school-based debate, oration and declamation contest, dance interpretation, and spelling bee. Those who excel in their technologies competed in the Skills Olympics in the areas of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Technology.
