CITE Students Mentor Kids at San Jose Day Care

September 18, 2024
Twelve students from CITE have embraced the role of mentors, teaching 24 children, aged 5-6, at San Jose Day Care Center how to read and write. This three-week program, which started on September 14, 2024, will culminate in a special graduation ceremony on the fourth week.
The mentors are using teaching aids and the Montessori method to foster literacy skills through engaging, hands-on activities. The children have responded with enthusiasm, enjoying the personalized attention and fun approach to learning.
Guided by Mrs. Editha Erana, the Day Care Center’s teacher and head mentor, the CITE students have been equipped with effective tools of the trade to ensure the program’s success. Active since 2008, the CITE mentoring club continues to serve the community by dedicating weekends to nurture the future of young learners.
