On November 25, 2024, industry partners were celebrated for their milestones in collaboration with CITE during the DTS (Dual Training System) Recognition Day, held at the Region TVET Innovation Center, TESDA Compound.
The event recognized these partners’ invaluable contributions in providing opportunities to underprivileged youth through in-plant training, equipping them with skills for professional success, and fostering personal growth. Despite challenges in the business landscape, these partners have continuously enriched the lives of CITE trainees, guiding thousands toward stable employment through the Dual Training System.
Dr. José Ramiro Carpio Jr., CITE Executive Director, (far right) opened the event by emphasizing the importance of tri-sectoral collaboration between CITE, TESDA, and industry partners. He underscored the need for regular reviews and updates to curricula, equipment, and instructor training to address industry demands.
Vice Chairman Mario King of CITE Board (far left) highlighted the transformative potential of collaboration in shaping a future-ready workforce, focusing on the theme: “Empowering Futures: Honoring Partnerships in Technical Education and Skills Development.” He emphasized the significance of the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) Framework Act in bridging classroom learning with workplace demands.
In his keynote speech, Hon. Jose Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez, TESDA Director General, lauded CITE’s contributions to workforce development, particularly its over 14,000 graduates, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds. He highlighted the role of the EBET Act in streamlining training processes, increasing tax incentives for participating enterprises, and promoting industry-aligned education in priority sectors.
Also gracing the event were DDG Vidal Villanueva III, Deputy Director General for TESD Operations, TESDA Regional Director Gamaliel Vicente Jr., and TESDA Provincial Director Floro Ringca.
MinebeaMitsumi Senior Manager Hubert Deiparine gave his response on behalf of industry partners and Jaun Carlo Magbago, a trainee at Austal Philippines, delivered the response on behalf of in-plant trainees.
