After graduating from Senior High School, Emma dreamed of going to college. But before she could even make plans, a powerful typhoon struck their community. The storm destroyed fishing boats along the shore — including her father’s only source of income. Her dream of higher education seemed to drift farther away.

For months, Emma wondered what would happen next. Then she heard about the one-year Production Technology program at CITE Technical Institute. Unlike a traditional college course, the program offered something practical and immediate: two months of classroom learning and ten months of plant training in partner companies, complete with allowances for students.
Inside the training center, she learned more than technical skills. She discovered discipline, teamwork, confidence, and resilience through mentoring sessions, advisory classes, and formative activities. In the factory, she experienced real-world work and realized she was capable of more than she once believed.
One year later, Emma now wears her company uniform with pride. Before graduation, she was already offered employment by a partner company — a milestone that once felt impossible for a fisherman’s daughter from a storm-hit town.
Today, Emma no longer allows hardship to define her future. Instead, she stands as proof that with opportunity and the right support system, dreams can become reality.
Many young Filipinos carry dreams like Emma’s but are held back by poverty, disasters, or lack of opportunity. CITE youth programs like Production Technology open doors for students who are willing to work hard and believe in a better future.
