CITE Celebrates Family Day

December 19, 2024

CITE celebrated its annual Family Day on December 14, 2024, highlighting the meaningful spirit of Christmas with the theme, “A Happy and Peaceful Christmas to Every Filipino Family.” This year’s event saw enthusiastic participation from parents and students, particularly those in the first year level.

The program commenced with the lighting of the Advent Wreath, followed by a Consecration to the Holy Family and a Holy Mass officiated by CITE chaplain, Fr. Carlo Cuaresma.

Executive Director Dr. Jose Ramiro Carpio Jr. delivered a Christmas message that emphasized gratitude and unity among families at CITE. He encouraged attendees to come together in celebration and to seek the intercession of CITE Founder Blessed Alvaro del Portillo and St. Josemaria Escriva, the Founder of Opus Dei, for both personal and CITE intentions.

The event featured a Christmas caroling contest with five participating sections, where Section 1H – Computer Engineering Technology students emerged as the winners. Additionally, Section 1D – Electrical Engineering Technology won the Christmas card making contest, while Section 1N – Electronics Engineering Technology claimed victory in the lantern-making competition. Christmas hampers filled with goods were also distributed to parents through a raffle draw.

Following the official program, each section held their own celebrations in the classrooms, culminating the festive day with Christmas parties. The photo coverage of the event was generously sponsored by J.B. Photography Services.
