Twenty students from the Diploma Program in Mechanical Engineering Technology are deployed as the first batch of in-plant trainees at SKYGO, taking on roles as assemblers and motorcycle mechanics. This milestone follows the partnership forged between CITE Technical Institute, Inc. and Nito’s International Ventures, Inc. (NIVI) on January 20, 2025, at NIVI’s corporate office in Cebu Light Industrial Park, Lapu-Lapu City.
The partnership, established under the Dual Training System (DTS), will immerse trainees in a world-class shop environment, providing hands-on experience in motorcycle assembly, maintenance, repair, and restoration.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by NIVI CEO David Ian King and CITE Executive Director Dr. Jose Ramiro A. Carpio Jr. Present at the event were NIVI Vice President Jake Flores, RMOPC President Edwin Esperanza, RMOPC Vice President Andreev Dexter Umlas, and Chief HR Officer Belinda Manatad. CITE was represented by Industry Government Community Relations Director (IGCR) Dariel Lauron, IGCR Supervisor Kenneth Pachejo and staff Jesus William Lumapac.
In her remarks, Miss Manatad underscored the importance of this collaboration and reaffirmed SKYGO’s dedication to equipping students with valuable training. CEO Mr. King expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, encouraging trainees to maximize their opportunities, not only in technical roles but also by exploring the marketing and business aspects of the trade.
Dr. Carpio emphasized the critical role of the partnership in preparing a workforce that is skilled, competent, and capable of making meaningful contributions to the industry.
SKYGO, a Cebu-based motorcycle brand under Skygo Marketing Corporation (SMC), was founded in 2003. Its motorcycles, assembled locally with parts from China’s Lifan, are distributed in the Philippines through Nito’s International Ventures, Inc.
