CITE Facilitates Scholarships for Mindanao Graduates

Young people in Cagayan de Oro will soon have opportunities to better themselves upon taking the one-year course in Production Technology.  Through the aid of SM Technical-Vocational scholarships, young people are given financial assistance to finish a short-term course for a quick leap to the industries.

The course which is under the Industry Skills Training Program of CITE Technical Institute is offered to male and female graduates of senior high school, old curriculum, and out-of-school youth.

This batch comprises 69 participants coming from Misamis province, Bukidnon and CDO.

Entrants are given classes and values formation training to better prepare themselves for industry exposure within one year. Industry partners then conduct orientation and screening process to those who pass the training. Trainees may be assigned to do production work including sorting, assembling or inspecting manufactured products or automotive equipment. For this batch, a recruitment team from Nissin Monde came to conduct a screening process to the applicants.

The Cagayan de Oro leg from November 5-9 is headed by ILU Manager Dr. Bonifacio Mercado Jr. The training was held at MASS-SPECC Cooperative Development Center.
