Some 25 barangay officials from Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Consolacion participated in Forum on Education, Employment, and Empowerment on June 20, 2026, as part of CITE’s continuing efforts to strengthen community partnerships and promote its One-Year Production Technology Program.
The forum introduced barangay leaders to CITE’s educational programs, particularly the Production Technology Program, Dual Training System (DTS), scholarship opportunities, and industry-based training pathways. The activity highlighted the role of barangay officials in helping their constituents, especially young people, access skills development and employment opportunities.
Presentations were delivered by Teody Mar Jimenez, Industry, Government Community Relations (IGCR) Supervisor, and Leonardo Arriesgado, Production Technology Subjects Coordinator, who discussed CITE’s training approach, industry partnerships, and how local leaders can support community members in pursuing technical-vocational education.

The Production Technology Program is a one-year intensive technical-vocational training program designed to develop industry-ready workers through classroom instruction, hands-on workshop training, and actual industry exposure. In partnership with Lear Corporation, the program follows a 2-month in-school training and 10-month industry immersion model to prepare learners for workplace demands.
Participants included Ariel Ian Diano (Barangay Paknaan); Meldrito Cubar and Agustin Alivion (Barangay Tolotolo); George Gabonada (Barangay Banilad); Rosalie Rosales, Jesus Edward Monsanto, and Arlyn Vercide (Barangay Casuntingan); Rosita Alivio, Jorenda Ecuasion, and Aileen Ochea (Barangay Cansaga); Amor Silawan, Jurey Baclohan, Mary Clare Sabanal, and Nie Malinao (Barangay Umapad); Joel Baliguat and Julieta Villamor (Barangay Tawason); Danielle Manatad (Barangay Subangdaku); Mardonia Toring (Barangay Canduman); Concordia Dicdican and Edgard Aballe (Barangay Lorega); Licerio Jr. Dumadag and Ruth Torres (Barangay Jugan); Mary Jean Gocotano (Barangay Basak); Thea Verona Oliverio (Barangay Poblacion Oriental); and Mario Dico (Barangay Lamac).
