TESDA VII hosted the Dual Training System (DTS) Forum in line with the celebration of the Dual Training System Week by virtue of Procalamation No. 84 s. 1996 focused on the theme, “Tatlong Dekada ng Pagkakaisa: TESDA and Indusriya.”
The event opened with a Welcome Remarks by Assistant Regional Director of TESDA VII, Floro T. Ringca which was followed by the Message of our Regional Director, Gamaliel B. Vicente, Jr., CESO III, ASEAN ENG.
In his message RD Vicente said that “The Dual Training System remains a cornerstone in our commitment to quality technical-vocational education, equipping our trainees with the skills and hands-on experience essential for real-world success” and hope that to make the forum an opportunity not only for learning but also for building connections.
The event was graced by the Officer-In-Charge of the Partnerships and CBTVET Office, Executive Director Floramel Joy C. Songsong who served as the Keynote Speaker whom was introduced by TESDA VII Regional Director, RD Gamaliel B. Vicente, Jr., CESO III, ASEAN ENG.
ED Songsong in her message said that partnership and collaboration with government, academe and industry addresses the current challenges such as skills mismatch, unemployment and underemployment. She emphasized that this activity is a joint responsibility by way of sharing expertise, knowledge and experience which will greatly contribute to improving the perception of TVET and creating gainful employment and better opportunities to TESDA graduates empowering the marginalized sector.

Mr. Dariel U. Lauron, Industry, Government and Community Relations Director of the Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise (CITE) Technical Institute took the stage to share its journey and commitment to DTS, their success being the hall of famer awardee as DTS Implementers for years.
Mr. Alex P. Señagan, a DTS graduate of CITE and now manages his own PLC System Technik Inc., with local and overseas companies as clients shared his inspiring success stories, as well as Mr. Angelo Gaihe, another CITE DTS graduate excelling as an employee at AUSTAL Philippines PTY Ltd.
A special segment from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) presented the tax incentives available for DTS implementers, a beneficial resource for partner organizations by Ms. Romela M. Cortes, Revenue Officer III and Ms. Fatima Valmorida, Revenue Officer 1A.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage with speakers, clarifying concerns and discussing potential collaborations through the Open Forum moderated by Ms. Clarissa J. Geraldo, Supervising TESD Specialist.
To strengthen connections, Ms. Jocelyn V. Cabahug, Chief TESD Specialist of the Regional Operations Division presented the mechanics for the “Meet and Match” session which brought industries and training institutions together, fostering potential partnerships for future DTS collaborations.
To conclude our program, Provincial Director of PO-Bohol, Mr. Carlito F. Quintano impart to us the ways forward.
